Assisted Upper Extremity Cycling

Stim2Go supports upper extremity cycling with the stimulation of arm muscles. The most common therapy is the unilateral training of the impaired arm after a stroke. The cranking motion is detected by placing the stimulator on this arm. The images of the electrodes and stimulator inside the program execution wizard of the App show the placement exemplary for the right arm. When using the left arm, the shown placement must be mirrored.

Indications for use

As a powered muscle stimulator (NMES) the Stim2Go is indicated for the following conditions:

  1. Relaxation of muscle spasm
  2. Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy
  3. Increasing local blood circulation
  4. Muscle re-education
  5. Immediate post-surgical stimulation of calf muscles to prevent venous thrombosis
  6. Maintaining or increasing range of motion
As a biofeedback device the Stim2Go is indicated for the following condition:
  1. Muscle re-education purposes
As a functional neuromuscular stimulator, the Stim2Go is indicated for the following conditions:
  1. Helps to relearn voluntary motor functions of the extremities

The movement-based biofeedback can only be used for patients with an active range of motion (ROM) which is defined as the ability of volitional movement resulting in a change of the concerned limb inclination angle of at least 10 degrees.
