Pajunk awarded NABP accreditation

On February 13th, Pajunk USA was awarded the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) accreditation, formerly known as a Verified Accredited Wholesale Distributor (VAWD), as an approved drug distributor. NABP accreditation is great news for Pajunk, which manufactures regional anesthesia trays for various surgical procedures. Pajunk trays include a variety of drugs for regional anesthesia and pain management. The accreditation is significant on many levels due to the various methods that drugs can be compromised. Ways drugs can be compromised in the drug channel include:

  • Contamination
  • Storage in unsanitary or non-temperature-controlled conditions
  • Illegal importation that evades inspection
  • Previously dispensed drugs re-entering the drug channel
  • False documentation
  • Counterfeiting

Since every state has their own requirements and rules regarding the distribution of drugs, NABP introduced the accreditation to set higher, consistent standards across the country.

The NABP accreditation process includes a rigorous review of the company’s quality systems, operating policies and procedures, licensure verification, and facility operations.

„To be recognized by the NABP with this certification is very exciting for PAJUNK USA. We hold the highest quality of standards for our products and our manufacturing processes. Our customers can have peace of mind knowing that they are receiving a regional anesthesia tray that has gone through the strictest of standards before reaching their facility,“ explains Marco Wohnig, President, PAJUNK USA.

A growing number of states continue to turn to NABP’s Drug Distributor Accreditation as a tool to ensure regulatory compliance.
